What are your rights and responsibilities?
You have certain responsibilities to allow people to exercise
their rights on your land. In particular, by law you must keep
rights of way clear and avoid blocking points where people can get
onto access land. Also, it is against the law to put up misleading
signs that discourage people from using their rights.
You may be able to restrict the right of access on access land,
as created by the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000. The Act
allows this when necessary to avoid conflict with land management
or safety. You can find out more from the National Park Authority
