What help and advice can you get?
Booklets
You can get a comprehensive guide called 'Managing Public
Access' from CCW and also as advice sheets from www.ccw.gov.uk. This will be published
at the end of 2004. A shorter booklet with general guidance on
managing access is available from the summer of 2004.
For advice and help about specific areas or rights of way
Contact your local authority's warden service, countryside or
rights of way department, or relevant National Park Authority for
help, support and advice.
For advice about powers under the Countryside and Rights of Way
Act 2000
Contact CCW or your National Park Authority.
For advice about managing access in woodlands
You should deal with the Forestry Commission if you have
dedicated woodland as access land under section 16 of the
Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000. The Forestry Commission can
also advise you about managing access in any woodland.
For copies of the Countryside Code call our enquiry line.
You can get more information and publications on access from the
CCW enquiry line on 0845 1306 229 and from www.ccw.gov.uk
This guidance is published by the Countryside Council for
Wales.
