Access options

We believe we have produced a website which meets superb standards in terms of its accessibility - with a range of web accessibility features in place. We are keen, however, to continue to follow ongoing website accessibility standards, and match them - as the medium itself grows and develops.

These following settings have been added to the site to aid accessibility - however, these settings will only be saved for this visit. Please click on the remember settings button to save the settings for future visits.

The design of our website includes a number of accessibility options including:

  • Advice on browser accessibility options
  • A stylish and easily navigable common design throughout, with structured pages to make them easily readable
  • Expandable ‘elastic’ website control
  • Colour contrast viewing options
  • A text only version of the web site.
  • Appropriate alternative text descriptions ("ALT texts"), as required by internationally recognised Web accessibility guidelines. All graphical navigation buttons are similarly ALT-tagged.
  • To aid users of text-only and audio browsers we have included a hidden accessibility feature, which enables the user to "skip over" the main page navigation buttons (rather then having to tab through them manually at the start of every page). Thus, the user can jump immediately down to the main content of the page.
  • We also have a ’Readspeaker’ function, allowing you to listen to every web page on the site, and the many link options available.
  • We strictly avoid the use of frames throughout our main site and microsites

All online forms attached to the website have been produced using the same strict standards.

Those with older browsers, with a slow Internet connection, or those working on different platforms, will nevertheless find that the website loads quickly and displays properly.
